The aim is to provide safe landing for fishing boats and commercial vehicles on one side of the slipway and encourage and develop sustainable multi-watersport activity on the other side by building a 12 metre wide slipway with a floating pontoon on one side to enable easy on and off access. The slipway will serve the South Devon fishermen, boat builders, Yacht clubs, Rowing and Gig clubs, the RNLI lifeboat, local residents and the many visitors wishing to launch or recover their small boats. The slipway road layout will also ease traffic congestion.
