The Trust

The Dartmouth Public Slipway Trust is a community group formed to raise funds and then construct a public slipway into the river Dart. The existing slipway is too narrow, dangerous and in a poor state of repair and does not meet the needs of a major boating centre such as Dartmouth.

The Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with charity number 117883. The object of the CIO is the advancement of amateur sport and the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the inhabitants of Dartmouth, the surrounding district and their visitors by the provision of a public slipway into the river Dart.

The Trustees are:

  • Sir Geoffrey Newman – Chairman
  • Ray Bridges
  • Nicko Franks
